Filter Bag Products from Rosedale Products
Filter Bags and Filter CartridgesBag filters are used to trap waste inside the bag, preventing contamination to the liquid that you are filtering. They are easy to use and a relatively low-cost industrial filtration solution.
Cartridge filters are another filtration solution that use modular filters to remove particles from the liquid. The filters are inserted into the housing and can be used for many filtration applications. They are offered in depth and surface types with micron ratings to 0.5.
Filter bags or cartridges are usually selected so that the clean pressure drop does not exceed 2 psi. Bag filter change-out is recommended at 15 psid (for bags), and 30 psid (for cartridges). Higher pressure drops may be tolerated when contaminant loading is low.
Oil removal filter bags are designed to adsorb oil and remove impurities from liquids in industrial applications. The material has multiple layers that allow for over 90% removal efficiency and retain high amounts of oil droplets and dirt within the bags.

Perforated Strainer BasketsPerforated strainer baskets and filter retainer baskets are essential for supporting filter bags against differential pressure. Without a strainer basket, filter bags can break, leaving the liquid in jeopardy of being re-contaminated. Perforated strainer baskets provide the free, open area that filters need, and are easy to remove.
Filter Efficiency of Industrial Filter BagsThe filtration efficiency values specified in our data are an indication of the filter's performance. Filter cartridges are offered in two types of efficiencies: nominal and absolute. Nominal efficiency is defined by a manufacturer and absolute efficiency is a laboratory-defined retention efficiency.
Unlike many manufacturers, Rosedale publishes the filtration efficiency and dirt capacity of our media, providing all the information needed for an accurate sizing of a filter, from oil filters to other types of liquid filters.
Our media is offered in standard grade and high efficiency. Standard grade refers to products which are nominally rated. This means there is no specified efficiency at the micron size but the product is interchangeable with industry standards. Rosedale high efficiency filter media is rated 95%, 99%, or 99.98% efficient at the specified micron level.
The Importance of Micron Levels in Filter BagsA micron is a unit of measurement that equals one millionth of a meter. It is used to measure a single particle of contaminant. Micron levels indicate the number and size of contaminants that a filter can remove.
Filter bags are rated between 1 and 200 microns. The smaller the micron number, the finer the filtration level that can be achieved. The micron rating is not the only determinant of a filter’s performance, however. For a complete idea of the performance of a filter, you also need to know the removal efficiency.
Filtration Levels for Filter BagsRosedale offers many levels of filtration to meet application criteria. We offer low-cost, standard efficiency filter bags and high-efficiency, high-capacity elements. Our standard capacity elements usually have about 4.4 square feet of surface area, holding approximately a pound of contaminant, perfect for many applications.
The filter bags we offer for this level of filtration include our standard filter bag, the Beta Bag®, and our RPO plastic top, self-sealing bag filter. These filter bags fit our standard side inlet housings.

Filtration Solutions from Rosedale ProductsTypically, our standard and pleated filter bags have from 5 to 25 square feet of surface area and hold from 1 to 11 pounds of contaminant. They offer a great balance between cost and capacity.
Filter elements in this area of filtration include several unique designs. This features our X-Tend filter bag, the Graded Density filter bag, and our bag-sized Pleated Cartridge. All filter bags and cartridges will fit our standard housings, and offer features that Rosedale is famous for, such as keeping costs down.
If you require ultra high capacity filtration and efficiency, nothing beats our Platinum series of liquid filter elements. They use between 85 and 600 square feet of surface area to filter out anywhere from 8 to 600 pounds of contaminant at efficiencies as high as 99.98%. Imagine changing your liquid filter element just once every six months. It’s possible with Rosedale’s Platinum Elements.
The 500, 700, 900, and 2040 series of Platinum elements are large multi-surface, pleated cartridge filters. Different series fit into different Rosedale housings, but all can be accommodated in one of our standard style housings, offering fantastic liquid filtration options.
